Overview

The Khopra Danda Trekking is one of the awesome rural trek newly opened in Annapurna region. This trek is suitable for all kinds of trekkers. The way to khopra trek diverts from the main trekking trail of Ghorepani.The Khopra Ridge is located away from the busier trails of Annapurna region but provides equally remarkable views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Fang and Nilgiri. Another attraction of our trek is the holy Kayer Lake which is also called Kaire Lake, which requires a little wandering away from the Kopra Ridge.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) and hotel transfer

  • Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m)  6-7 hours drive

  • Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk-1940m

  • Day 04: Trek to Tadapani-2610m

Detailed Itinerary


Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m) and hotel transfer

A representative  from Yala Adventure will welcome at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer us to Hotel.t As we are leaving next day to Pokhara we will be trip briefing and dinner program in Kathmandu today evening.

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu to Pokhara (820 m)  6-7 hours drive
After breakfast in Kathmandu our journey is going to be a very pleasant one along the Trisuli River up till Muglin. You will have your breakfast and lunch on your way to Pokhara. After almost 6 hours road travel, we will reach Pokhara the Lake of the city called Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara.

Day 03: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk-1940m
After  breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Nayapul for about 1 hour.
You will be walking for about half an hour until you reach Birethanti. Then crossing suspansion bridge over Modi Khola/ river, you will be heading towards the beautiful village of Ghandruk . Ghandruk is one of the old village resided by the Gurung’s settlement in Nepal. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Tadapani-2610m
As soon as you wake up your whole day gets brightened up by the beautiful view of the sunrise over the gigantic mountains from the hotel itself. After having your breakfast, you will start the trekking towards Tadapani. You will be following the trail alongside the forest, ups and down the small hills. Tadapani is also one of the best places to view the Himalayas. Overnight at a lodge .

Day 05: Trek to Bayeli-3450m
Today, you will be taking a secondary trekking route that leads you to the Khopra valley. You will be walking past the beautiful rhododendron forests. While on the way, you might as well get a glimpse of the Annapurna range. The trail starts to ascend above the tree line and follows a ridge to Deurali (small pass) and then continues up to Bayeli Kharka a beautiful place that sits in the middle of rhododendron forest. Overnight at a lodge in Bayeli.

Day 06: Trek to Chistibang-3026m
Today, you will be trekking through the grassy slope lands through the pasture lands where you might see the herders on the way. After walking for a few hours, you will reach a beautiful village of Chistibung. Overnight at a lodge at Chistibung.

Day 07: Trek to Khopra Danda-3640m
From Upper Chistibung lodge there is a steady ascent through alpine meadows and pastures then as one approaches Kopra Ridge one sees the tip of Annapurna South. However it is only on arrival at Kopra community lodge that the full panorama is revealed: Mount Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Fang and Annapurna South can all be seen. After lunch, it is well worth going for a short walk down Kopra Ridge to a viewpoint overlooking Kali Gandaki river far below in this deep valley. Khopra danda is situated in 3660m it is main destiny of the trek from where visitor can see panoramic, outstanding and breathtaking mountains view as Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Tukuche Peak (6800m), Nilgiri (6600m), Annapurna I (8091m) close view Annapurna South face (7219m), Hiuchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Annapurna II (7937m) and Manaslu(8163m) etc. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 08: Excursion to Khayer Lake-4660m
Today is the day for the excursion to the beautiful Khair Lake (4600m) however it requires a good fitness level as you might have to trek for 9-10 hours. Khair Lake is also one of the pilgrimage sites for the Hindus as many people visit the site during the festival that occurs on Janaipurnima which generally lies in July or August as per the Georgian calendar. Overnight at a lodg.

Day 09: Trek to Chitre-2200m
Today you start the day trekking through the small trail through the ridge of a hillside. You shall descend following the same trail while reaching Khopra danda till Chistibung than we will ascend towards Swanta. The trail further leads to a small village of Chitre crossing the suspension bridge. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 10: Trek to Ghorepani-2855m
Today is the shortest day of trekking as you might have to walk for only 3 hours to reach Ghorepani. You can spend the rest of the day exploring the village or even resting as tomorrow is going to be a long trekking day. As you start walking through Chitre, you will be ascending through the stone steps to Ghorepani. Overnight at a lodge.

Day 11: Excursion to Poonhill -3210m and trek back to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara
Today is the longest day of the trek. Early in the morning, you will take an uphill trek towards the viewpoint of Poon Hill. It is the perfect place to view the sunrise over the snow-capped Himalayas.  You will be retracing your steps back to Ghorepani for a quick breakfast. Then you will be heading back to Nayapul via Ulleri and drive to Pokhara for overnight.

Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu
You will return to Kathmandu from Pokhara by the private vehicle.

Day 13: Departure from Kathmandu
Free till departure. Our representative will picks up from hotel and transfer to Airport for the departure flight.
